I have to travel down to a funeral in Beckenham and for some reason I don't understand both AA and RAC think that we should go through the centre of London to get there not what we considered the logical route of east M25. Does anyone local to this area know of any reason why we should avoid eastbound M25 ay 7.30/8 am?

I don't know the area but I do know that people are better at planning routes than computers/sat navs. If it looks more sensible to you then go for it.

Give yourself at least an hour to get from J28 to the far side of the Dartford Crossing.
