I wanted some advice as to if I should contact my insurance company to inform them of a minor car accident which I've had during the weekend which was the other drivers fault. The concerning factor to me at this time if the other driver changes the story and places blame on me even though they accepted liabilty at the time.
We were at a standstill waiting for the traffic lights to turn green when the car in front suddenly reversed and whacked our car. The children were pretty shaken but that was down to shock so no serious injury. The car to my surprise had no visible damage however there is some play in the bumper which I'd like to get checked out (in case one of the brackets have been damaged etc). The 3rd party's car had a visible dent in their bumper but that was about it.
As this was minor would it still have to be reported to the insurance company or even Police?
TIA
Pete
