hi all.
i am been treated to a first class trip from liverpool to bruges. i dont really have much(any...) experience of travelling first class so i would like to make the most of it.
i have a few questions....
i am travelling on a direct virgin train from liverpool to london euston, what are the perks of first class on virgin, leaving at 11.15. also can we use the lounge when we get to euston as we have a few hours wait.
what is leisure select on eurostar like? we have to change in brussels midi for bruges, how easy/long is this.
can we travel on all trains to bruges then?can we travel first class?
sorry for all the questions...

Assuming it is a weekday 11.15, on the way to London you should expect complimentary lunch (soup/sandwiches/similar), drinks (including alcohol) and newspaper.
Generally speaking, first class with Virgin (weekdays) is excellent.

We went Lesiure Select to Disney last month. It was really very nice indeed and made me wonder why I have left it this long to try it.
There was loads of room, we had a nice breakfast (served on real plates not in a box) on the way out together with a plentyful supply of hot and cold srinks.
On the way back, we had a whole carridge to ourselves so the service was FANTASTIC :-) Again we had a nice dinner with a glass of nice wine. Champers was served when we first boarded and it was just so so civilised to deal with immigration whilst sitting back with a glass of wine.
I do know that next time I need to go to Europe, Eurostar will be my first choice.

Generally First Class on Virgin on a weekday is very good.
You will get an at-seat service from a customer host. Who will constantly (after each stop) ask you if you want drinks/coffee/tea etc.
You can sometimes get free booze, but save the booze for Eurostar.
Eurostar first class.
Now this is proper first class.
You will get an airline style meal on a proper plate and proper metal cutlery. You will be offered comp wine and beers throughout the journey including champers.
You can use first class lounges in all the stations.

I cant remember if E* have a first class lounge at StP. I know they have a slightly sectioned off area for business select suckers (who pay £300 each), but cant remember a first class lounge.

Have you heard of Google ;) :rotfl:
Here's a link (http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/travelling_with_us/at_the_station/first_class_lounges/default.aspx)
Virgin only operate on the line out of Euston so that's the only station with a First Class Lounge, in London.
So, no - no Virgin lounge in St Pancras. However, given that St Pancras has just re-opened following an £800m refurbishment (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7081809.stm) I don't think you'll find it too shabby ;) It boasts Europe's longest Champagne Bar (http://www.stpancras.com/drink/champagne-bar/) .... and I don't think you need a first class ticket to enjoy it ;)
Eurostar's First Class ticket is Business Premier, so you won't get into the Lounge at St Pancras. But if you did, I think you'd miss a treat. St Pancras is beautiful - like no other railway station you'll see in this Country .... or very many others, for that matter. Enjoy it!
