Peugeot 406 key fob

Hi folks
Can anyone help with this ?

I have bought another key fob for the above car,but,I have realised it needs to be paired with the immobiliser etc in order for it to be of use.

The vehicle in question is a 2001 model .

Google searches have thrown up various options,but ,I thought you good people may have a definitive solution.
All ideas are appreciated.

Hi, Davie24.First of all,where did you get the key fob from? If it was from E-Bay or a vehicle dismantler etc.I strongly suspect that you will not be able to recode it.You will probably have to go to a Peugeot main dealer and get a new one specially coded for your car.You will have to produce the V5 before they will do anything. I know for a fact that this is true for Mercedes keys.Hope this helps,but hopefully someone with specific Peugeot info.will be along.
