I have a friend staying with us at the moment who has been looking at hiring a car but now thinks he'd rather buy a cheap car and then re-sell it when he decides to go back to Austrailia.
Can a non-resident have insurance on their own car whilst on holiday (probably about 3 months) with out a permanant UK address? or will the car have to be put in my name with me on the insurance too?
He is looking at buying an estate car or transit van so he can sleep in it on his tour of England, Scotland and N. Ireland (he hasn't even mentioned Wales!).
Any advice for him/us? Thanks.
