Even though you may already carry an Organ Donor card you may not have registered your wishes with the NHS.

Register for free here: https://www.uktransplant.org.uk/ukt/Consent.do
(You don't need to already have a card to register, it's open to all)

If you're thinking of becoming a registered Donor, for more info try here:
http://www.uktransplant.org.uk/ukt/how_to_become_a_donor/how_to_become_a_donor.jsp

If you are willing to give "the gift of life", then you need to register your intention, and carry the donorcard at all times. The card should be in your wallet or purse.

Swiss toni, glad to see this being promoted .It is an altruistic gift we can all consider free of charge. You also must remember to tell your next-of-kin your wishes. (I am an organ donor and transplant link nurse) it is really important too.

I think this is an appropriate place to ask you all to give blood! (www.blood.co.uk)

That's so true, sorry for leaving that out, I honestly had assumed that family had already been told first and just totally overlooked it. Thanks for pointing that out. :)
