Lancashire are giving away free cloth nappies or a free 13 week subscription to a nappy laundry.

I got 16 Onelife birth to potty nappies (which are excellent), 3 wraps, 100 biodergradable liners and a nappy bucket all for absolutely nothing.

I was very anti using cloth nappies, my excuses were: I don't like poo, I have 3 preschool children so don't have time, the baby will get nappy rash, the nappies will leak etc etc. However, I have used these washable nappies for nearly 3 months now (only used one disposable in that whole time) and I have to say I have found them easy, they hardly take up any extra time (certainly less than going to Teco every time you run out of nappies), the baby has suffered no ill effects and the poo goes down the toilet without you touching it (so better than having it sitting in your bin).

Info is here

I have since tried other washable nappies, but I think that the ones supplied by the council are extrremely good quality and are my favourite. I do prefer the more colourful wraps though.

Full marks to Lancashire council for this scheme - give it a go you have nothing to loose
