View Full Version : PIGSBACK - solely for questions for Darragh

Please use this thread to ask Darragh any questions - and hopefully he will use this thread to answer them.

This (hopefully) will make the other Pigsback thread easier (and shorter) to read through :)

If you have a questions to ask then please start it with the word "Darragh" - hopefully this will make it easier to use :)

If you don't think this separate thread is a good idea feel free to tell me :)

==================================================
I have collated these questions in the hope that it will make it quicker and easier for Darrgh to answer them - rather than reading through the entire thread - it also means people will know if a questions has already been asked
==================================================
Questions So Far (till 19/11/05)

First things first though Darragh - I don't think ANYONE who sent an email with the MSE heading has had a reply yet - and there is nothing wrong with our emails - we get other mail from pigback no probs

Kazzea - why can UK users still access Irish links - admittedly not directly through Pigsback but by links posted by others?

Binxy - Are we going to get our accounts suspended for clicking irish links when we didn't know they were?

Maggogy - will i ever get my 2x 100 points for cdwow purchases? i got a cdwow voucher on 26/09 and never got the 200 points
will my hubby ever get his love2shop voucher he never received? are we ever going to get these rewards please? im more worried about the love2shop voucher....

Dragonfly02 - Im still waiting for lightspeed points from months ago, i've sent many emails to the postmaster@pigsback address, i've included an alternative email account incase there are problems with my spam filters and i have altered my spam filters when using hotmail, and I have had NO reply whatsoever. Please help

===================================== Ok so i got a reply, apparently Rachel replied many times to my emails but i never got 1 despite the fact that I expressly gave an alternative email address. So I have a reply about my lightspeed registration, apparently my registration was not recorded from pigsback so TOUGH!!!!.
I did use the pigsback link, and it seems it's not the first time this is happened, i've read of many instances where people have made large purchases or simply taken up an offer through the pigsback site which was not honoured.

There was another member on this thread with exactly the same problem as me and i'll guarantee they get the same email reply as me

JGjet - 2ND that, been waiting AGES! (see Dragonfly02's question)

Nitewalker - I am still awaiting my 400 points from the Lottery could you please advise when i might get them. Any assistance would be appreciated. Keep up all your good work and effort.

Jmcateer - I am on Irish site. My wife and son joined but are on UK site. As irish site is more relevant can they transfer?

Kazzea - as you know already my family are all pigsback mad (myself, one of my brothers, my parents and my Aunt) We are all members at the same address. This is not a problem (I sorted it all out with Pigsback that having so many people was ok) However my brothers girlfriend moved in with us a few months ago and she wants a Pigsback account of her own - I have discouraged her so far as I don't want my account (or anyone elses in the family) closed because Pigsback think we are "trying it on" My question is would this be ok??

Deeds - I didn't / still haven't received my (boots ) voucher ordered back in JULY!

Comicmankev - Any chance we can swap our redeemed vouchers? I started collecting with my partner and here Dad. Then I decided to get everyone to get Outback vouchers and put them all together towards a meal. She just received her voucher (and we've all redeemed ours but not got them yet).

The bad part is they are just £5 OFF, and not £5 vouchers!!!! Now, this is certainly not a deal. The voucher that is free on your site offering a free starter is worth more than that. Seriously, this is a really bad deal and am not happy with 3 on their way to us which are no use at all!

Bluemango - Have you managed to sort out the link for ASOS as I was told that is was MY ERROR for not getting points for my order, as I had not clicked on the link correctly.

I placed 2 orders with them and recieved NO POINTS for any, no response to emails until I sent it everyday then was told again MY ERROR and nothing you could do (I know many other people have have the same experience with ASOS points).

Also still waiting for my Stress piggies I ordered months and months ago, told in an email it was being looked into, and I am still waiting....

Look forward to a reponse as all emails after I was told I have made an error were never ever responded to. I look forward to your response!

MrMe - I had exactly the same problem, tracking with asos is not working (at least not for everyone although I have never heard of anyone getting points from shopping with them) I have also tried contacting pigsback only to be told it must be my fault. All I can say is don't shop through pigsback with the exception of cdwow. I am owed nearly £20 in points have sent all of my confirmation emails & even asked if it could be something to do with pop up blockers or browser issues but it was me that didn't do it right Oh & still waiting on my lottery points & a Love 2 Shop voucher but for some reason I STILL love pigsback

Could you look into the tracking with asos & give an idea of when I should get my lottery points or even if I will get them? Thanks!

OMG just got my Love 2 Shop voucher today Now just the lottery points & asos to sort!

Soprano - I ordered a cdwow voucher LAST MONDAY and it has not yet arrived. I have sent 4 emails, but not one has been answered. I would rather not use this forum to ask questions, but feel I have no choice.

Do you need my email address? Thanks, Christian

Arkonite_babe - I have just sent the following email to Pigsback:

Quote:
Hi, I redeemed my piggy points for a cd wow voucher on 9.11.05
This still hasn't been credited to my rewards section. Neither have my lottery points from September been credited. The last time I redeemed poiggy points for cd wow it only took two days, can someone please explain what is going on?

I have also emailled yourself as per request in the Pigsback thread. Please can I have some feedback as to what is going on.

Yours frustrated, Piggypoints collector since 2002, a_b

Rchddap1 - any news on the larger value CD-Wow vouchers that you were going to investigate for me?
Kazzea wants to know this too

Mumof3 - I'd forgotten about the stress pigs, yes, where are they?? I ordered them for everyone at work and was going to use them to bulk out stockings. They are still available to 'buy' with piggy points, so you can't have run out of those too!!

Freyaluck - would it be possible to get a link set up to tescos.com I know they have an affiliate program in place, just a thought?

Rchddap1 - One further question...any idea when the 'outdoor category won't select' issue is going to be sorted. I'm still having problems.

Allexie - can you clarify if the Pizza Hut/TGI Friday vouchers can be combined????

Innovate - is there a difference between the Daily Crossword and the Bring on the Day with Nescafe Crossword? i.e. are they two separate things or the same?

Kazzea - where has Avon gone in the Shop and Earn section?? - its no longer on the drop down list

Droopsnout - see post number 43 on this thread :) I am not pasting that lot in here as well :)

Oh God oh God what have I started??

MORNING!!

Wont be able to spend much time in here until tomorrow afternoon - Monday to Wednesday tends to be very hectic for me but I will TRY and answer every query - but once again i'd ask you to do the following:

1. Send the query to postmaster@pigsback.com

2. Use the words MSE FORUMS in your subject line (preferential treatment or what??)

3. Include your registered Pigsback.com email address AND an alternative email we can cc the reply on to make sure it gets there (applies particularly to Hotmail and Yahoo). (this alternative email address will ONLY be used to contact you and not for any other purpose. It won't ba ssociated with your account or anything).

4. If necessary and you aren't getting any replies, please include a contact number and we'll phone you!

5. Remember any details you can provide, including receipts and registration emails, help us get to it quicker...

So do that and I'll be back to you tomorrow afternoon!

Thanks

Daragh,

I used an £8.75 CD-Wow voucher and bought a CD that only cost £7.99 (many of their CDs incl Chart have gone down to £7.99). What happened to my other 76p ? I didn't get a credit at CD-Wow ?

Perhaps a £7.99 CD Wow voucher could be available for 900 points ??

Mr Grumpy says:

I'm blowed if I'm retyping all my questions from the last four PB threads onto yet another one! I'll just carry on being grumpy!! ;) I'd only just reminded Darragh to refer to a previous post of mine in a previous thread, when ...

I'm not convinced he'll be able to come back and deal with all this lot!! But I wish you luck!

droopsnout

Ah, well, I just happened to stumble on this lot from one post in the current PB thread:

What happens to multiple submissions of the daily crossword? Is there a software mechanism to discard all submissions after the first one? Or are all submissions, including duplicate entries, enetered into the draw. (Can I add a question: Why is the winner not named, as s/he is in the Rustlers comp?)

There is no new crossword on Saturdays and Sundays. It is, however, possible to resubmit Friday's. Is there any advantage to doing this, and how does this tie in with your answer to the last question?

Why are so many people not getting their eBay 300 points, months after they signed up and made their first bid (13 July in my case)?

Why are so many people not getting their 200 points for their registration with LightSpeed? (Again, on 13 July for me).

Why were so many people advised that they had not followed the correct procedure to claim points when it would seem that the majority had indeed done so?

Why did the daily quizzes frequently fail to appear? (Hopefully, this is a thing of the past).

Why was the winner of the 10-point Know Your Celebs quiz named on-screen, when there was no prize to be won? (This was stopped shortly after I mentioned it here).

Why does the winner of the daily Rustlers Trivia Quiz always live in "SE - London South West" - apparently?

Why is it unlikely that the L2S vouchers will return? (I accept that this may be commercially sensitive, but I would respect such an answer if it was given).

And we've not had a proper answer as to why some people get different Monday click-throughs when they are signed up for the same interest categories - as evidenced today, where some folk are getting 10 points for the HQ Hair ad.

Are the 10-point click-throughs posted simultaneously for everyone, or do different batches of PB members receive offers at different times?

Why is the Irish site so much better than the UK site

Also an error if you logout then go to login but dont enter any details and just click login you are taken to the Irish site and logged in as someone else...this is very poor major programming error

rchddap1

The irish site has been around a lot longer. The Uk site is really just getting itself organised. Still a great site, but just has a few 'issues' to work out.

Are some click-throughs for 10 points programmed so that you have to click on them a number of times before the 10 points become available? This seems to have been the case a couple of times in the past.

I'm afraid I wasn't able to log in as I thought on Thursday or Friday due to some personal business and workload.

I will however get as many of your queries as possible answered this week and will do most later on today or tomorrow. So don't despair, I'll be beethoven!

I would just like to say to Darragh that myself, family and friends have been members of pigsback since june and have had no problems yet with points being awarded or L2S vouchers arriving or anything else arriving that we have ordered ie CDWOW vouchers and have had all emails replied to promptly.
I can understand peoples complaints and frustration as had i had these problems i would be the same
We all think pigsback is a great site with the potential to be even greater.
Just thought id let you know so that your not just reading complaints and querys on these 2 pigback threads and to say thank you

Hi Darraghd,

Just a quick question about vouchers. On the other thread you said the Boots vouchers will be live today or tomorrow. Are these only useable at Boots stores? Are you expecting any highstreet ones soon that can be used at a variety of stores?

Thanks for any help!

Darragh - no offence

The reasons people don't get replies are they haven't us added to safe lists or contact lists, their email filter settings are off, their ISP blovks our mails, they haven't included their registered pigsback.com email address so we can't check their account, they don't include other contact details, they'll have a query like "my voucher hasn't arrived" and they ordered it the day before, they put a wrong address (or more often NONE) on their accounts, they haven't specified which of the 3 or 4 vouchers they've ordered hasn't arrived etc etc.

- EVERYONE in my family has received emails from Pigsback with the offers etc and the occasional reply and there is nothing wrong with their email settings BUT none concerning missing L2S vouchers since July - and there had been MANY MANY emails sent - even using the MSE heading that you gave us

I LOVE Pigsback - and understand you are relatively new in the UK - If the communication issues could be sorted out then I think that would satisfy 95% of the people on here - as that way they could communicate (i.e get a reply) their problems with Pigsback directly. This is what frustrates people the most and why there are so many negative posts on here as posting on here is the only way they have of even having a chance of having their problems heard.

Just to let you know that I emailed a couple of weeks ago about my earlier query and have not had a response yet. I do not have a junk folder. Thanks

i always provide an alternative address (and i have added pigsback to my safe lists)and in the few replies i do get none are sent to my alternative address (which doesnt have any sort of filter on it) and in those very emails i am told to provide an alterate address, so may i suggest actually reading the emails you are being sent is a problem for you at pigsback...the customer service is shocking....we'd never get away with it where i work and provide web support

darragh,

can charity donations be giftaided? i donated 100 points to forgotten children this week but i give all of my usual donations through giftaid and would rather do so if possible. when i donated my name and address came up so i just wondered if you've got the name and address info is there any possibility of using it to sort out giftaid if the person is able to do so?

I've sent numerous e-mails to postmaster@pigsback.com and unfortunately I haven't received a reply yet.
I have also emailed yourself as per request in the Pigsback thread. I won 8205 points on 2/08/05(Jackpot pool) and ordered 7 L2S vouchers on 5/08/05.
I haven't received them and I really hoped that you'll not ignore my messages and finally credit the points back to my account.
That’s my last hope and I’m expecting a respond!

Seriously, people...If vouchers go missing and you've had no joy with emailing them, PHONE THEM! I've always phoned whenever I've had a problem. This normally gets things sorted out.

Phone them on this number: 0207 170 4010

Darragh,

If you have the time to answer this i'd be really grateful.

I entered a jackpot pool and made my selection and bet 500 points. When the page refreshed I was told that my 500 points were on a different selection. I have no ide how this happened, although the page did seem slow and took a while to load. I e-mailed through the website immediately asking for it to be changed or points refunded.

I understand that people may change their minds or realise that there is a better choice later on, but you can see by how quickly I e-mailed that this is not the case here.

I hope you can help.

Thanks

Darragh,

A while ago I decided to print off the Blockbusters 2-for-1 DVD/Games rental voucher from the Pigsback.com website. These can be used on Mon-Thurs up until 31st December 2005.

Today, I took a trip to my local Blockbusters armed with my printed voucher. I spent a while deciding which 2 DVDs to rent out. Having made my choice, I made my way to the tills and presented the shop assistant with my voucher. Unfortunately, to my embarrassment, they had no idea what the voucher was for, who pigsback.com were and said they couldn't even use it because it does not have a barcode. I asked them to type in the unique reference number that was printed on the voucher, but they said they couldn't use it because every coupon or voucheris supposed to be scanned in.

So Darragh........why have I been made to look like a right eejit in my local blockbusters? They must have thought I was some kind of scammer creating my own discount voucher trying to pull a fast one on them.

I'm going to lock this thread, as Darragh has requested that all questions directed towards him or Pigsback in general are posted on the main Pigsback thread HERE (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=123844) to avoid any confusion.

Thanks. Jo. :)
