I'm currently using a opticians to get my CL but it's quite expensive and I'd be better off going to one of the bigger stores. I don't want to order lenses direct from the website as I'd like the back-up of a shop and someone I can visit if there is a problem, plus I like to have eye/CL checks carried out each year.

Does anyone have a preference who would be better?

I doubt you could go wrong with either.

I got my GP toric lenses from Specsavers, and they were great. They even give me the odd bottle of solution for free when I run out. Everyone I know who has contacts gets them from Specsavers, and I've never heard of them having any problems.

On the other hand, I'm sure just as many would have the same thing to say about Vision Express, and I'm sure a few wouldn't recommend either.

My advice would be to ask your friends for recommendations in your area, and to visit some prospective opticians to find out about the price, payment plans, what's included, aftercare, etc.

Also, it helps if you like the staff and you feel comfortable there. The staff at my local Specsavers are very friendly and helpful, so it means going to the optician isn't such a chore.

I wouldn't go with either - get them from Coastal Contacts for more than half the price, contact lenses from high street stores are a rip-off!

I order premium brand O2 Optix for £30 6 month supply.

When I use to wear contact lenses, I brought mine direct from the internet, but kept up my yearly checks with the opticians. I honestly cant rememebr if I had to pay for the opticians appointment, even if I did, I was still in profit by buying lenses direct.

I can't see how you are getting them so cheap. I've worked mine out at $127 for 3 months

Hi, My OH wears lenses, he has Specsavers easyvision. I have tried to look for alternatives on the net but the radious measurements don't seem the same as his (13.8). We currently pay £15 per month, do you think we could get them any cheaper?
