Has anyone been to one of those training days that salons run?
I'm booked in next week, £20 for a cut and colour at Saks, and am starting to have nightmares!

I've had my hair cut today at a salon for free.
They had advertised for 'models'
The girl that cut mine is a trainee and is going into her 2nd year in September.
I took a couple of pictures of what style I wanted and I was glad I did.
She discussed the style with one of the salon owners before washing my hair and then they discussed it again whilst sectioning my hair.
He started off and then the trainee took over. She did keep stopping to check that she was doing ok and I'm delighted with my cut.
My daughter also had her hair cut by the other trainee, she was a bit more confident and only asked for assistance once, my daughter is pleased with her cut.
My thoughts were that the salon would not send you out with awful hair as they don't want any bad publicity and they want you to return as a paying customer. :D

I have been going to salons as a model for a few years now and there haven't been any disasters, most of the time I am really happy with the cut.
The lesser experienced students can take a long time as they need to be guided more, but it's worth it for the money you save.
I try to go to quite expensive salons as a model as I think they are being trained to the standard of that salon.
I went to one salon that would quite often cancel last minute and it felt as if they tought they were doing you a favour when you were there (bit snotty really). They will be getting paid to train students, so they're not doing me a favour. I stopped going there and now go to a salon that I am happy with.
Don't worry bubble, there are members of staff whose job it is to watch over trainees and make sure they do a good job.
