My son has a Toyota Hiaca van. A symbol has come up on the dashboard. It is 2nd from the right next to the timing belt symbol, there is a drip at the bottom, with 2 hoses. There is a wavy line half way up. It is half black and half orange. Dos anyone recognise it?

Edit:

Actually this is probably more like your description http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/Images/water_trap_light_72.jpg can't say I've ever seen it before, but the AA explains it at the end of this page http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/breakdown_advice/warning_lights.html

im guessing the van is diesel with this symbol.
it usually means the water trap on the fuel filter requires emptying or even change the fuel filter.or the wire might be disconnected from the water trap sensor.

Thanks for that, I hadn't seen the symbol, I just had his description. I'm sure you're both right. I will let him know. He has been using bio-diesel, do you think this could cause a problem?

probly got chips and batter bits in the filter.:rotfl:

only kidding, it will be water (condensation maybe) in the fuel filter.

Get the fuel filter replaced and ask the garage to put some fuel treatment in the system. Its getting more and more necessary these days with all the 'stuff' (sorry to be so technical) that is put in the diesel, to use the additives.
