Hi all,

I got my 06 plate Renault Clio in Jan of this year.
It's a 3 door, and as such useless for me as I can't get my daughters car seat in the back.

One of the main selling points when I got the car was the isofix system, but it turns out you need an isofix seat which costs a fair bit!

So I've had the car just over 6 months, it's in better condition than when I got it (2 new tyres & had to get a new windscreen) plus has the ipod thing installed.

My query is this - other than a private sale which will no doubt leave me out of pocket, is there any way I can get out of my finance agreement or even go back & get a 5 door car?

I reckon it's a slim chance, but can't hurt to ask the experts before I speak to the finance people/dealer.

Thanks

To voluntary terminate the agreement and hand the car back you must have paid half the HP price.
Looking at how long you have had the car you will not have paid that amount unless you put in a big deposit - and if you had then you would have equity in the car and a vt would not be cost effective.

Your best option is to ring the finance company and request a settlement figure.

Compare this with the value of the car - you can get and idea of its current value from the supplying dealer.

You will then know if you have positive or negative equity.

From this you can then see how much it would cost for you to px the car for a 5 door.

You can get a finance quote either from your existing finance company or from the supplying dealer.

Cheers for that, I'll dig out the paperwork when I get home

either way it's going to cost you way more than just buying an isofix seat

Yeah, I should have never listened to the sales pitch - now it's getting me right in the wallet.
I'd be better off without a car for now.
