We want to encourage 10,000 people to get growing their own organic vegetables for the first time, because nothing tastes quite like produce you’ve grown yourself.

Growing your own vegetables is a great way to improve your diet, enjoy outdoor exercise, save money and protect the environment. To start you off we’re giving you a packet of rocket or tomato seeds for you to Get Set, Grow!

Why not fill out the Get Set, Grow! registration form (http://www.gardenorganic.org.uk/getsetgrow/apply.php) to receive your Get Set, Grow! pack which includes a free packet of seeds (either Rocket or Tomatoes depending on season) donated by Chase Organics. Information on growing and eating your rocket or tomatoes can be found here (http://www.gardenorganic.org.uk/getsetgrow/rocket_tomato.php).

Also included in your Get Set, Grow! pack is a 2-for-1 voucher to visit Ryton (Warwickshire) or Yalding (Kent) Organic Gardens for many more growing ideas. Find out more about our organic gardens on the Garden Organic website (http://www.gardenorganic.org.uk/gardens/index.php).

TIP: Also remember that if you get Rocket, grow it and for any reason do not harvest it all, then you can dig it into the soil as a valuable 'green manure' to nourish the soil.

Thank you for your interest in Get Set, Grow! Unfortunately, we do not have any more free packs to give away because this campaign has received such an overwhelming response. At one stage, applications were coming in at an amazing rate of one every 40 seconds! The first 10,000 packs were snapped up within just a few weeks. And even though we have provided an extra 5,000 packs – thanks to further support from our mail order partner The Organic Gardening Catalogue – these have already been requested too.

However, we do hope that you continue to pursue your interest in organic gardening. Why not visit our main website at www.gardenorganic.org.uk, which is packed with lots of free information and advice. And of course, if you would like to take the next step and learn much more about organic gardening then why not become member of Garden Organic?

I was far too late for the seeds, but this is an excellent gardening site. Lots of info on making compost and advice on what to do in the garden throughout the year.
