And I've got 4 weeks to do it :confused: . Anyone got any reports on this new Boots product Tri Aktiline. Its cheaper on EBay, but even so, if it doesn't work, its still too expensive isn't it? OR---- have any MSE'ers got any tried & tested remedies.

I brought Tri Aktiline when Boots had there 3 for 2 offer. I am still on my first tube and you can notice the difference when you put it on. I dab it in under my eyes and lines on the side of my face and the lines really do disappear after a minute or so. Ebay price wasnt much cheaper so I was glad when they had the 3 for 2 offer on line. So I paid £50 for 3 tubes.

Are you joking? Do you really want to look 20yrs younger? Or should I say do you think it,s possible with creams? 20yrs is really going for it, I dont think it will happen without surgery or at least fillers. An up to date new hair do and colour will take a few years off and maybe a spray tan but good luck, let us know how if you manage it and I for one will follow your lead.

Do I detect a school reunion?? :D
Don't bother - the room will be full of other sad, fat, bald, haggared gits and no-one will recognise each other anyway.
BTW - Did you ever see that episode of Dad's Army where they all had to look younger to be able to stay in the Home Guard?
Hilarious!!

I tried it and was'nt impressed,I thought it just looked cloggy after a while.
Tri-aktiline has a very unusual texture....sort of tacky and dry at the same time. However you do use such small quantities and it does plump out lines better than other products I've tried. A tube will last ages but I would suggest if you try it to put moisturiser over the top.
Nothing you can buy in the high street (unless you spend £100+ on the sort of stuff celebs use) will make you look 20 years younger!
Someone mentioned fillers which I had recently - very painful even with local anaestetic cream and dental injections and you need time fo swelling and any bruising to go down - and very expensive - and only a temporary fix too. Not a decision to be be taken lightly and if you've only got 4 weeks I'd try to get myself looking as good as possible by:
1) Sipping loads of water continuously throughout the day as this will plump out your skin;
2) Eating plenty of fruit and veg;
3) Have a totally new haircut or colour can make a dramatic difference to how young you look;
4) Try a new look with clothing and make-up.
5) Smile - it's one of the most attractive things people can do.
Whatever it is you are doing in 4 weeks time -have a brilliant time and if you find out how to look 20 years younger please, pretty please, let us all know how. :D

Last year I had fillers, done for free as it was a training day, wow. it wasnt painful in the least and left only small patches of redness which dissapeared within the hour. You must have quite sensitive skin or had a butcher of a person doing it Toots. It is only just wearing off, tremendous, but I couldnt afford to get it done again if I had to pay.
Totally agree with the rest though.

Also make sure you exercise from now right up to the day in question - get yourself that "natural glow" people go nuts over :)

Thanks to all you good folks. It was all a bit tongue in cheek really. Saw this ad in the paper and wondered if it really does "do what it says on the tin". Its not a school reunion Toothsmith, its ---er---, well, about ** yrs ago, I got dumped (ahhh), and in 4 weeks, I'm going to a wedding & "HE" will be there. I'm not going for the full monty, I think I scrub up pretty good really, so I'll put me slapstick on, dig out my killer heels and watch his eyes pop out. I definately got the better deal though- fabulous hubby, 2 great kids, a good life. The girl he dumped me for walked out on him and their 3 kids. Probably had her reasons, but Hey, thats life!!!!!

What areas did you have the fillers?
I was recommended to this lady by my hairdresser who had had it done and she didn't tell me until afterwards that it she found it extremely painful too. I have a high pain threshold normally and am usually totally unphased by things that others seem to find painful. On this occasion though my eyes were streaming from the injections around my mouth although I did manage to stop myself from squealing (although I really wanted to). I knew she had to go pretty deep to be able to penetrate the scar tissue as I could feel the needle come up against something very tough and she then gouged away to get it in. Sorry if I'm being too graphic for anyone but I do like to tell it like it is :D .
Can I ask you also whether you had any other reaction such as swollen glands in your neck? I know the products that are injected are supposed to be products that we produce naturally in our bodies anyway but my glands have been swollen for quite a few weeks now although I don't have a cold or anything. A few weeks ago I made a rare visit to my GP purely because I was on jury service so couldn't afford to be unwell and touching one of my glands was like having an electric shock. My GP gave me antibiotics and the pain subsided virtually straight away but my glands are still swollen. I just don't know if it is connected or not.

I had absolutely no bad reactions at all and no pain. The only thing I felt was a bit stingy, I had the lines from nose to mouth, the lines from side of mouth down and one on my top lip just next to the .. you know that bit that goes down from your nostrils. i had it done at SKiN, it,s quite expensive though, if you had to pay, but maybe worth it to some. I was going to have a wee trial on special offer and the nurse who was to do the background check stuff asked if I would concider coming to the training day, HMMMM let me think, would I like A few hundred quids worth of gorgiousness for free.... Oh go on then. Would love to be able to afford it but once you start....

A decent facial, a haircut, some new clothes and a young man on your arm should do the trick:rotfl:
It must work because I am 46 and people think I am 35:j :j

Get your colours done - this could take years off you if you normally wear draining colours. For years I thought soft muted shades suited me best but went to Colour Me Beautiful (OK, it was pretty expensive at around £90 but she was great and it was soo worth it) and found to my total surprise that I suited bright, warm clear colours - the kind I'd normally shy away from as thought I'd be swamped by them. But since then I've had tons of compliments. They also do a make-over and show you what make-up colours suit you best. I've saved so much money not buying the wrong thing. (I sound like I work for them but I don't)
Other than that, maybe...
-botox if you could afford it?
-A facial including a massage the night before should help.
-Drink tonnes of water in the next 4 weeks to help 'plump' your skin and make your eyes bright and clear.
-I always think eyeliner on the top eyelashes always seems to make people look younger. And lipgloss in a teeth whitening shade. Or a good shot of lip colour can enliven your face - I think this works well for older women
-a good fake tan
Urk, hope this helps and have a great time :)
