Hi!

Does anyone know if there is a timescale that a case for driving without due care and attention can be brought to court?

The Police have to lay information before the court within 6 months of the alleged offence date. The courts, depending on the area, can take up to 5-6 weeks to process that information to produce a summons.

The hearing date will then be two or three weeks later, unless you are going with a not guilty plea, in which case they will give you a new date which gives the prosecution time to submit all their evidence, and for you to outline your defence.
