There has been comments on here that Gap Insurance is a good thing to have. I wouldn't disagree with this BUT I paid £199 18 months ago for 36 months cover. I also brought breakdown cover to. I now wish to sell my car the breakdown cover has 6 months to run so they said no problem it can be transferred to the new owner. However as for the gap insurance there is transfer or any refund despite still having 18 months to run. Surely if you pay an insurance company a fee to take the risk against a claim and this is for a set period, you should be entitled to cover for that period or if the risk to them is removed they should refund the remaining fee, after all thats how normal car insurance works.
Anyone know if I have a case? ....yes it does say this in fine print but I didn't get the full documents until after I had paid for it.

i would guess that you had a 14 day cooling off period in which to cancel.

What does the contract say?
If there are no refunds allowed then you have no case.
There are monthly paid / monthly cover GAP and better still RTI (return to invoice) products available, don't know the providers though.
